Mitochondria Research Laboratory at the Centre for Human Metabonomics, North-West University is offering postdoctoral research fellowship in human molecular genetics. The candidate should hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Genetics or a related field and have research experience in molecular genetics. Scholarship Description: The Mitochondria Research Laboratory at the Centre for Human Metabonomics, North-West University (Potchefstroom) is offering a postdoctoral research fellow position in human molecular genetics in 2014. The group’s research is centred on the involvement of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) system in human diseases, with a specific focus on the South African population. This position will involve the identification of pathogenic genetic variants from both mitochondrial and nuclear genomes, using a next generation sequencing approach.
